01. NASA Confirms Earth Will Experience 15 Days Of Total  Darkness in November.

Analysis- It originally came from 2015, and since then, it just keeps returning with different dates. The usual story would be of some astral event, such as the alignment of planets, which would drive the earth into total darkness for 15 days.

Its a scientifically misinterpreted point of view. The cycles of the day and night on Earth are completely independent of any alignment in planets, as it revolves upon its axis relative of the Sun.

Media Coverage- This has, in fact been declared a hoax many times by reputed news organizations and fact-checking sites. According to them, also this story is all too or as a social media hoax that someone somewhere takes seriously.

Conclusion- The news item itself is, in effect, a case study in fake news, thrashed out in misinformation and misconception of elementary astronomical jargon.

On 14 July 2015, the web site Newswatch33, a fake news site, published an article titled “NASA confirms Earth will experience 15 days of complete darkness in November 2015.”

It is said that the event, according to NASA, hasn't occurred in over 1 million years.

Astronomers from NASA have indicated that the world will remain in complete darkness starting on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3 a.m. and will end on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 4:15 p.m.
According to officials, the event, known as “November Black Out”, will be caused by another astronomical event between Venus and Jupiter. The whole phenomenon has been explained in a highly scientific way.

02. Hot Lemon Water Will Stop COVID- 19

Analysis- This claim originally appeared on social media in March of 2022 when most people were just starting to hear about the COVID- 19 pandemic. It states that hot lemon water  kills the coronavirus while in the throat, prior to its passage to the lungs.

Unscientific Bases

Indeed,no scientific basis can be found to support that lemon hot water could form a prevention measure against COVID- 19. COVID- 19 stands for a respiratory virus whose transmission from the host to host occurs through droplets of respiratory secretions, it cannot  be treated or prevented by any food or  drink.

The world health organization,the centers for disease control and prevention, and most health experts have admitted that major ways of protection from COVID_19 include vaccination, the use of face masks, frequent hand washing, and social distancing. Giving this, fact-checking organizations like FactCheck.org and Reuters have violently debunked the claim, thus establishing it that lemon water is, in itself, health advice that comes from tried sources in times of pandemic.

This is dangerous misinformation in that it gave people wrong security from infection risks,who probably ignored tried protective measures like vaccination and mask-wearing. This need is emphasized in a more specific way to rely on health advice that comes from tired sources in times of pandemic.
